Connect
Connect AI agents with MCP
Let Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client work with your Cliezoo workspace through the WordPress MCP Adapter, safely and with a full change log.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) lets AI apps use tools in other systems. Cliezoo includes an MCP server, so the AI agent you already use can read and act on your clients, projects, tasks and invoices.
Before you start
Install and activate the official WordPress MCP Adapter plugin from WordPress.org. Cliezoo registers its tools when the adapter is present and does nothing when it is not.
Step 1: Open the agents page
Go to Settings → External AI agents and switch on Let agents connect to this site.
Step 2: Give the agent its own user
Under Who the agent is, click Make it its own user. Cliezoo creates a WordPress user, cliezoo-agent, with the AI agent role and an application password. The password is shown once: copy it before you close the dialog.
Step 3: Choose what it may do
Tools come in three groups:
| Group | What it covers | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Looking at things | Reading records | On |
| Writing things you can put right | Safe changes such as drafts and tasks | On |
| Things that reach the outside world | Sending, payments and other sensitive actions | Off |
You can also set safety limits: calls per minute and records changed in one call.
Step 4: Connect your AI app
The How to connect section gives you a ready-made configuration to copy. There are three kinds:
Local (the agent runs on the same server, through WP-CLI):
{ "mcpServers": { "cliezoo": { "command": "wp", "args": ["--path=/path/to/wordpress", "mcp-adapter", "serve", "--server=cliezoo", "--user=cliezoo-agent"] } } }
Remote (through the MCP WordPress proxy):
{ "mcpServers": { "cliezoo": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@automattic/mcp-wordpress-remote@latest"], "env": { "WP_API_URL": "https://your-site.com/", "WP_API_USERNAME": "cliezoo-agent", "WP_API_PASSWORD": "your-application-password" } } } }
Direct HTTP, for clients that support it, using your site’s REST address and the agent’s application password.
Paste the configuration into your AI app’s MCP settings (for example Claude Desktop’s configuration file), then restart the app.
Stay in control
- What it has done lists every change an agent made.
- Disconnect every agent turns the server off and revokes the agent’s passwords in one click.
Cliezoo Pro adds scoped API keys (Settings → Developers) and a per-role tool policy.
